A PEEK INTO MY PROCESS: Creating Photothreads Imagery

 

While there is nothing more I love than making a great photo, I am equally happy taking the original image and doing additional processing to make it special.

 

My fine art photographs are created from an original photograph – shot, developed, and printed by me.

 

I use a professional Epson printer and always print on high-quality Hahnemuehle Rice Paper for the stitched photographs. This paper is light enough to machine stitch, but produces a high quality image.

 

I often use metallic thread and sometimes add scrim, gauze, metallic Lokta paper and sometimes found objects to the original image.
